 Freeburg & Nettels is committed to being involved in defense organizations and professional associations on a statewide and national level with memberships in the American Bar Association, California State Bar, Los Angeles and Orange County Bar Associations, International Association of Defense Counsel, American Board of Trial Advocates, National Insurance Crime Bureau (faculty members), International Association of Special Investigation Units (National SIU Director), Northern and Southern California Fraud Investigators Associations, California Association of Licensed Investigators, Defense Research Institute and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
 In addition to the legal representation we offer, we provide our clients with preventative legal services (consultation regarding issues of interest to insurers and self insured clients which may not be directly related to matters we are handling). We also conduct training seminars and give presentations to claims staff and management, individual business, business groups and Trade Associations regarding basic industry standards and issues as well as offer our clients loss control or risk management personnel in formulating strategies to improve the management of risks most commonly associated with a given type of program or specialty area to help control loss ratios.
 Members of our SIU litigation team regularly attend and give training seminars with representatives of the NICB, California Department of Insurance, Fraud Bureau, FBI, medical providers and the District Attorneys Office that focus on fraud detection, prevention, and litigation strategy including seminars involving uninsured motorist claims. In addition, our attorneys are also instructors at the NICB Basic and Advanced Special Investigations Academy. |
